Publisher and
Editor, Anna Webb

Anna
grew up in Indiana, graduated from Purdue University with degrees in
Interior Design
and French and spent four years living in Boston before
moving to Nashville in 1988 to be closer to her family. In
1992, she met her
musician
husband Michael right up the road from where they currently live
with their cat, dogs and potbellied pigs.
Once in Nashville, she continued
working at
architectural firms before leaving in the mid 1990's to be an art
director
and set
designer for music
videos and television commercials.
Like
all of us,
her free time was
very limited and she often found herself
missing
out on local events due to being unaware they were happening
until
they had already come and gone. She thought that it would be great
to have a wall calendar that had
local events already laid out so that one
would only
have to glance at it to know what was going on on any
given day.
For the next
several years, she amassed extensive files of event information
and
created a unique wall calendar format to convey large amounts of
information
in a limited amount of space. In 2000, she decided to launch
The Nashville Calendar
at the start of the new
millennium.
The path that followed has been
full of learning curves, challenges and
blessings. It was
her husband who, before the 3rd edition was
released in
2002,
encouraged her to start painting the calendar cover art. To her
surprise,
the artwork itself has
taken on a life of it's own. Following the release of
the
Nashville Skyline Note Cards in 2005,
have come requests for many
more Nashville-themed items.
What Anna
loves most about publishing the calendar is the ability
to
incorporate so much of what she cares about. With this
publication, she
can promote the efforts of many local agencies and organizations,
meet
interesting
area
residents and volunteers, paint local architecture and
show how
fond she is of her
adopted hometown of Nashville.
