Saying goodbye to The Nashville Calendar. It is with many conflicting emotions that I write to inform you that The Nashville Calendar will cease publication, effective immediately. It has been my pleasure over the last nine years to help bring local events to the public's attention. It has never ceased to amaze me how much there is to do in Nashville and how diligently Nashvillians work to raise money for so many good causes. We truly are a diverse and vibrant city and I was proud to participate in my own small way to promote all that middle Tennessee has to offer. I thank you for the opportunity. Some of you may not know that I published The Nashville Calendar single-handedly with no help from government or private entities. One year ago, in an effort to keep pace with the way people seek information, we went to an online-only format. I remained committed to keeping the wall calendar format and keep it and the web site ad-free as much as possible. However, without the income that ads bring, it has become impossible to justify the amount of time such a publication requires. After re-evaluating at the end of the year, I decided the time has come to bring The Nashville Calendar to an end. However, I look to the future with excitement! Please read on...
Saying hello to Nashville Calendar of the Arts! I will
continue to publish an online calendar that
includes exclusively art, photography, artisan, craft
and other visual arts related events.
Please visit the new Nashville Calendar of the
Arts, I would love to hear your thoughts and
suggestions! It has been a delightful surprise over
the years to find a strong demand for my
Nashville-themed artwork that I originally created
for calendar cover art. I will continue to
paint and create merchandise based on my Nashville
skylines which will still be available online and at select area
stores. I will also participate
in various art fairs and festivals, which will be
posted on the HeArt
of Nashville web site. In the next months, I
will be developing the web site to also include some of my
paintings with a wide variety of subject matter.
